Double the Fun

A trip to Baton Rogue is not complete without making a pit stop at Blue Bayou Water Park and Dixie Landin', which is open from the first weekend in May until Labor Day weekend. A general admission ticket allows you access to both parks, as well as nightly laser light shows and outdoor concerts.

Dixie Landin'

Dixie Landin' is a family friendly theme park, which boasts more than two-dozen thrill rides, including the mega-coaster, Ragin Cajun. The massive steel looping roller coaster has a series of dizzying turns, and drops passengers from 14 stories up. Dixie Landin' is home of the Giant Wheel, which towers 90 feet above the park and gives passengers a chance to take in breathtaking views of the sights below. The park also houses an impressive kiddie area, featuring attractions specifically suited for young ones, such as the Grand Carousel and the Delta Crop Dusters ride where kids get to pilot bi-planes.

Blue Bayou

Blue Bayou Water Park is a mecca for outdoor fun during the hottest months of the year. Tens of thousands of locals and visitors flock to the park each year looking for thrilling ways to beat the heat. While it may not be the largest water park in the world, Blue Bayou is home to the planet's largest in-line water slide. Conja is billed as the tallest and fastest water racer on earth, and is only one of 20 high-octane attractions featured in the park.
